· SEO · COSTS ·

Ask three SEO companies in Dubai for a price and you will often get three very different numbers. One quote looks cheap, one looks expensive, and it is hard to tell what you are actually paying for.

The difference usually comes down to how much work each company plans to do, and how competitive your searches are. This guide explains what decides the cost of SEO in Dubai, what a monthly plan should include, and the questions that help you compare SEO packages fairly.

· WORTH REMEMBERING ·
“Do not compare SEO quotes by price alone. Compare what work gets done each month and how you will see the results.”

How SEO is usually priced in Dubai

  • Monthly retainer: the most common model. You pay a monthly fee for ongoing technical work, content, local SEO, links and reporting. SEO builds over months, so this is what most businesses need.
  • One-off SEO audit: a full check of your website with a list of fixes. Useful before a redesign or when you want a second opinion on your current agency.
  • Project-based SEO: a fixed piece of work, such as a site migration, a new website launch or fixing a ranking drop.
  • "Pay for rankings" offers: you pay only when certain keywords reach page 1. These sound safe, but they often target easy keywords that bring little business. Read the terms carefully.

What affects the cost of SEO

1. How competitive your searches are

Ranking for "seo company dubai" or "real estate dubai" takes far more work than ranking for a niche product in one emirate. The more businesses competing for the same searches, the more content, links and time it takes.

2. The condition of your website

A slow site with crawl errors, missing pages or a poor mobile experience needs technical fixes before SEO can work. A new website needs a proper setup from the start. A healthy site can move straight to content and links.

3. Number of target keywords and pages

Most plans focus on a set of target keywords, often 15 to 30 for a service business. More services, more locations and more keywords mean more pages to optimise and more content to write.

4. Content each month

Blog posts and new service pages that answer real buyer questions are a big part of SEO work. How many pieces are written each month, and who writes them, changes the price.

5. Local SEO and Google Business Profile

If you want to show up in Google Maps and "near me" searches, local SEO adds regular Business Profile posts, reviews, photos and local listings. For many UAE service businesses, this is where most calls come from.

6. Link building

Links from relevant, trusted websites still matter. Good link building takes outreach and quality content, which is why it costs more than buying cheap links. Cheap links can also get a site penalised.

7. Arabic and other languages

An Arabic version of your site needs its own keyword research, content and optimisation. Translating English pages word for word is rarely enough.

8. Tracking and reporting

Good SEO reporting shows rankings, traffic and leads, not just "impressions". Setting up GA4 and Google Tag Manager to count WhatsApp clicks, calls and form submissions takes time, but it is how you know SEO is paying for itself.

9. Ecommerce sites

Online stores have many product and category pages, filters and technical issues such as duplicate pages. SEO for ecommerce usually needs more technical work than a service website.

What a monthly SEO plan should include

At a minimum, a monthly SEO plan should cover:

  • Technical checks and fixes (indexing, speed, mobile, errors)
  • On-page optimisation of your main service or product pages
  • New content that answers buyer questions
  • Local SEO and Google Business Profile work, if you serve local customers
  • Link building from relevant websites
  • Rank tracking for every target keyword
  • A monthly report with clicks, traffic, leads and the work done, plus next month's plan

If a quote does not say clearly which of these are included, ask.

Warning signs in an SEO quote

  • Guaranteed number 1 rankings. No one controls Google's results. Google itself warns against companies that promise them.
  • A fixed price with no audit. A fair quote depends on your website and your competition, so it should come after at least a quick review.
  • "Hundreds of backlinks" for a low price. This usually means low-quality links that can harm your site.
  • No access to your own data. You should always own your Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Business Profile accounts.
  • Reports with no leads. Rankings and traffic matter, but the report should also show enquiries from organic search.
  • Long lock-in contracts from day one. SEO takes months, but you should be able to see progress before committing for a long time.

How long before SEO pays off?

SEO is slower than ads, but the results last longer. In our experience, first movement in rankings usually shows within 2 to 3 months, and page 1 results for target keywords take 4 to 6 months. Very competitive city-wide keywords can take 6 to 12 months.

That is why the real question is not “how much does SEO cost per month” but “what is it worth to rank for the searches my customers use”. If one new client is worth a lot to your business, a steady flow of enquiries from Google can pay for SEO many times over.

Questions to ask an SEO company in Dubai

  1. What will you do in the first 3 months, and what will you do every month after that?
  2. Which keywords will you target, and can I approve the list?
  3. How many blog posts or pages will you write each month?
  4. How do you build links, and can I see examples?
  5. What will the monthly report show? Will it include leads from WhatsApp, calls and forms?
  6. Will I own all accounts and data if we stop working together?
  7. Can you show results for businesses like mine?

Our take

The right SEO budget depends on how competitive your market is and what your website needs. A clear plan, a keyword list you approve, honest reporting and real tracking of leads will get you a better return than the cheapest package. When you compare SEO companies, compare the work and the reporting, not just the monthly fee.

If you want a clear picture for your own business, book an SEO audit call. You can also see how we work and real results from our clients on our SEO services page.
